This is how you kick off the new year!
Lily & Jake chose to get married on new years eve! When I first spoke to Lily & Jake I was instantly hooked on the idea of celebrating the new year by capturing their day. These two have the energy of about 10 Golden Retrievers who have all been told they’re a good boy and it’s time for a walk! Their enthusiasm is infectious.
So when they excitedly told me they were going to be one of the first couples at Willow Tree Estate’s new reception space, I couldn’t wait to check it all out. I had captured a beautiful wedding before at Willow Tree before the new space had been built, and what always stood out to me was how well situated the property was - being right on Mistletoe Ln.
Ask any photographer in the Hunter Valley about Mistletoe Ln and they’ll tell you it’s a must for sunsets. Even from venues 10-15min away from here, some couples still choose to make the trip to take advantage of the sweeping vista and the beautiful vineyard.
Lily and Jake's party was epic. From a first look before the ceremony, impromptu photos with guests before formalities started, to the dancefloor kicking off with some gelato & glow sticks.
One thing that struck both of us capturing this wedding was just how ready their guests were to proudly show their emotions. So many big smiles with tears at the same time and hugs between mates that said - I love you man. Thank you Lily & Jake for inviting us to capture your NYE wedding. It was epic and the best way to kick off our year.
